Cromlechs of Almendre (1st century to 3rd century BC)

Monument from the Neolithic era, where the population became more sedentary and developed agriculture and livestock
One of the largest and most important megalithic monuments in the world
Total of 95 menhirs
Discovered in 1964 by Henrique Leonor Pina, during geological mapping of Portugal
Ceramic pieces and a polished stone ax were also found.
Probably built for fertility rituals and celebrations
